The Midwest Medication Safety Symposium (MMSS) is an annual regional interdisciplinary meeting that was created to provide an opportunity for healthcare providers to collaborate and learn new medication safety strategies. The symposium will provide opportunities for seasoned practitioners, new practitioners, and students to come together to learn through podium presentations, poster presentations, vendor exhibits and breakout sessions. The goal of the symposium is that attendees will learn new ideas or skills that they can take back to their respective organizations and implement to improve medication safety.

Since being founded in 2003, the Indianapolis Coalition for Patient Safety, ICPS, provides a forum for Indianapolis-area hospitals to share information about 'best practices' and work together to solve patient safety issues in Indianapolis and surrounding county hospitals.


The Indianapolis Coalition for Patient Safety is comprised of chief executive, medical, nursing, quality, safety, and pharmacy officers from six Indianapolis health systems.

In addition, there is participation by entities such as Eli Lilly, Indiana and Purdue Universities, the Regenstrief Institute, Inc., Indiana Hospital Association and HealthCare Excel. The ICPS is a non-profit public charity organization.
